Go to the place which was earlier indicated. Put on your headphones/earphones. Press “start” and begin your tour guide through Lublin. You will hear a voice of somebody who is somehow connected with Lublin. This person can be involved in the life of the city in many different ways: politically, socially, artistically, professionally. You will hear a story about important moments, emotions and hopes. Sometimes a story may also describe gloomy, unpleasant or tragic events. You always hear a real voice and a real story.

Why do we do this?

The project “Whispered Lublin” was created by Homo Faber team in 2009. We wanted to organise original guided tours around our city. Recent history, which is often forgotten in schools because of the lack of time, yet still remembered by parents or grandparents is described by people involved in important events and activities in Lublin. These are people connected with July elections, the development of democracy, civil society, political and social changes. What is more, the story is directly dedicated to a particular parson and, first and foremost, is held in the urban space.

While we were preparing new tours, new ideas and stories appeared. More objective, specialist walks, which show wartime and post-war Lublin, also came into being.

Thanks to this method also more pleasant and relaxing tours were created, for example, an amazing walk retracing the footsteps of the characters of Marcin Wroński short stories.

How does it work?

Download an MP3 file from our website and go to the indicated place and press “start”. In your headphones you will hear a story dedicated just for you. Start your city walk while listening to the stories of places you are passing by.

The first shared but simultaneously individual walk was held on the 4th of June 2009.

Project was prepared by:
